Unknowingly if you format the windows genuine OS. You will lose the genuine OS and finally end up using a pirated one. I bought a Sony Laptop (SVE15117FN) recently and the first thing I did was backup. Here I jot down how to create a Windows OS backup in Sony Vaio or any laptops.

Once create recovery media is chosen a dialog box appears. Make sure that your charger is plugged in because it may take plenty of time for taking backup. Now in the dialog box choose optical disc. If you have 16 or 32 GB pen drive/flash drive then you can go along with it. But here I chose optical disc.

Now insert the DVD (4GB or 8GB) and click next to begin the process. Make sure that the system should remain free for 2 to 3 hours. If you do any work parallel then the process will be slow.
