Mr. Trump promised he would wipe out the trade deficit and for the last three months America sold more than it bought from other countries. But the trade deficit for 2019 didn’t go to zero. American still buys $627.7 billion more than it sells.
Mr. Trump promoted his tariff plan as the solution for the manufacturing contraction, but the tariffs only made U.S. manufacturing go deeper in the hole. The economy took a brutal shot from Trump’s tariff war and it’s not over yet. Now that the president decided he would turn the Middle East into a war zone the economy will take another hit that could open the door for a recession in 2020.
Huawei’s 2019 revenue didn’t meet company expectations, but the Chinese tech giant raked in $122 billion in revenue last year. Thanks to a strong smartphone market in China the new Pro 30 mate sold out in hours. Huawei’s international 5G technology is on fire even though Trump and the Trumpians keep bad-mouthing Huawei to other nations. Trump claims Huawei spies for the Chinese government, but there’s no solid proof although T-Mobile thinks spying is in China’s tech DNA.
Meng Wanzhou, Huawei CFO will be back in a Canadian court this month. Canada arrested Meng in December 2018 so Trump could use her as a pawn in his tech fight with China. Meng’s lawyer claims the Canadian police violated her rights when they let customs officials confiscated her personal devices and sent the information to the FBI. China told Canada to kiss their relationship goodbye if Trudeau extradites Meng so Trump can manipulate the Chinese.
The Iran situation continues to unfold as more information comes to the surface. Pentagon Chief Mark Esper told the press cultural sites are off-limits if he gives the thumbs up for an Iran missile-bashing. Trump claimed he picked 52 sites in Iran he would like to destroy to help him win the November election. The Democrats thought his Zelensky-screwing was pretty stupid, but drone-screwing an Iranian general with a lot of Facebook friends put him a league of stupidity all his own.
Foreign Minister Zarif told ABC News Iran has a badass whipping in store for him. Trump’s act of war on an Iranian citizen is a war crime, and he called Trump a terrorist. Plus, Zarif said Mike Pompeo is not just a dick. He’s an arrogant and ignorant d*ck.
