According to some witnesses, Trump planned to quid pro quo Zelensky before the comedian won the election.

Mr. Trump wanted to have insurance when trade negotiations with China didn’t go as planned. Trump let the Canadians know he wanted them to arrest Meng Wanzhou, the CFO of Huawei, for violating Iranian sanctions last December. Canadian custom officials searched Meng, and they took all her personal and business devices away from her before they slapped the cuffs on her. Wanzhou waited for three hours while the Canadians sent Meng’s personal and private information to Washington, according to Wanzhou’s attorney.
Trump thought he could bring Ren Zhengfei and Huawei down when he banned the Chinese tech company. But U.S. telecoms still want to use Huawei’s 5G platform even though Wilbur Ross told the press Trump’s won’t change anything until he makes some kind of deal with President Xi. President Xi told Mr. Trump the Chinese government will stand behind Huawei and Meng Wanzhou. And any tech deal would have to include the release of Meng and lifting the ban on Huawei.
Ren Zhengfei offered 5G licenses to U.S. telecoms. If Trump lets the Telecoms use Huawei’s 5G platform, then Trump could prove Huawei spies for the Chinese government if that software exists. If Trump refuses to search for the spying bugs, then all the talk about spying is just another Trumpian fairytale.
Chicago’s police commission Eddie Johnson didn’t attend Trump’s police chief meeting in his city. Johnson knew the Trumpster nothing good would come out of meeting the president. Trump told the crowd he met a motorcycle cop a few years ago that could clean up the crime in Chicago in one day. That was just another way for Trump to intimidate Johnson for ghosting the meeting.
