The old days of connecting peripherals like a mouse, keyboard or printer to a computer via a physical cable are long gone. Now, users can connect their peripherals wirelessly via Bluetooth. The latest version of Microsoft’s PC operating system, Windows 10, supports Bluetooth connectivity, but many users struggle to find this option in their computer’s settings. So, how do you connect a Bluetooth device to your Windows 10 PC?

First, turn on your Bluetooth device and activate pairing mode. Depending on the specific device, pairing usually involves pressing and holding a button for a few seconds. You should see a flashing light, indicating that the device is ready to connect.

Next, turn on your computer and log in to Windows 10. You should then press the Windows key + I to open the settings menu. From here, click “Devices,” followed by “Bluetooth.” Under “Manage Bluetooth devices,” make sure the slider is toggled to the “On” position. Assuming your device is in pairing mode, you should see it listed below, in which case you can click “Pair” to enable Bluetooth connection.

According to Digital Trends, a second way to connect Bluetooth devices to Windows 10 is to access the Action Center. On the bottom-right side of the screen, you’ll see a square-shaped button. Clicking this button will open the Action Center. Next, click the Bluetooth icon to connect your device.

Keep in mind, however, that this method also requires you to enable pairing with the Bluetooth device. If the device isn’t in pairing mode, Windows 10 won’t connect to it. Regardless of which method you use, it’s recommended that you disable Bluetooth when you aren’t using the device to save battery power. Although it’s a convenient way to connect your devices wirelessly, Bluetooth consumes a significant amount of power. To save power and stretch your batteries out a little longer, disable Bluetooth when you aren’t using the device.

Whether you have a mouse, keyboard, printer or similar Bluetooth-capable computer peripheral, you can connect them wirleessly to your PC using Window 10 using the methods described here.
