Popular footballers Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar Jr. head up the latest edition of the FIFA 20 player ratings. EA Sports unveiled their upcoming video game’s top 100 players for the ratings, with the three international stars taking the top three spots.

In a report from UK’s The Independent, they indicate that Lionel Messi leads all players with a 94 overall rating. Just below him is Cristiano Ronaldo with a 93 and then Neymar Jr. with a 92 rating for the FIFA 20 game. It’s a change from how things were when FIFA 19 was about to launch as Messi and Ronaldo were tied with 94 overall ratings for that game.

Rounding out the top five players are cover star Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne, each of whom has a 91 overall rating. Jan Oblak will enter FIFA 20 as the highest-rated goalkeeper. He’s No. 6 overall for players with a 91. UEFA Player of the Year Virgil Van Djik gained five points for this year’s title to land at No. 7 with a 90 rating.

At No. 8 overall in the player ratings, Mohamed Salah breaks into the top 10 for the game with a 90. He’s followed by the ninth overall player in FIFA 20 Luka Modric (90) and No. 10 player Marc-Andre ter Stegen (90). The entire top 100 for the FIFA player ratings is available at EA’s FIFA website.

Player ratings change in EA’s FIFA and other sports titles based on how the professional athletes perform in their regular season and playoff games. As players give better performances, their ratings may move up. In addition, a FIFA Ultimate Team mode offers different special cards with higher ratings for players who perform well during their seasons. So any of the players outside of the top 10 may get upgraded player items for FIFA Ultimate Team should they perform exceptionally in games.

The new FIFA 20 game is slated for release on October 27, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PCs. Gamers who pre-ordered certain editions will be able to play their games three days earlier. There’s also early access through EA Access and Origin Access subscription services for members.
