President Trump went to Mar-a-Lago for the holidays to lick his impeachment wounds. Mr. Trump’s remedy to heal those wounds is to stay on the offensive, blame Joe Biden, and curse Pelosi and the Democrats for doing their job. He played golf with Lindsey Graham on New Year’s Eve before his yearly gala, and he continues to play the victim role on Twitter.

Rudy Giuliani attended the Trumpster’s black-tie party along with other members of Trump’s mobster posse. Giuliani told the press he’s ready to testify at the impeachment trial or he will be Trump’s main defense attorney. Rudy said he would defend Trump the way he defended the government against New York mobsters when he worked for the Southern District of New York. But most Republicans don’t want to be anywhere near Rudy now that the Southern District of New York has him by the short hairs for wire fraud, acting like a government agent without a license, and money laundering.

John Bolton has no excuse not to testify if witnesses become part of Trump’s Senate impeachment trial. Now that a judge threw out Kupperman’s case, and a federal judge in Washington told DOJ attorneys Trump can’t use his phony executive privilege order to keep Don McGahn from testifying, Bolton may throw a monkey wrench into Trump’s claim his call to Zelensky was perfect.

The global economy is on shaky ground thanks to Trump’s tariff wars. Europe’s central bank chief thinks Europe’s economy will be in the toilet in 2020 unless Trump stops trying to bully allies using his tariff addiction. The new trade commissioner for the EU wants to sort out the tariff mess that hurt Europe’s manufacturing sector in 2019, but it’s doubtful Phil Hogan will change Trump’s plan to rule international trade while he’s president.

Mr. Trump’s mission to destroy China’s largest tech company hit several snags in 2019. Ren Zhengfei told the press his company will end the year with more than $122 billion in annual revenue. That’s an 18 percent increase over 2018’s revenue even though Trump continues to bad-mouth Huawei’s 5G platform around the world. According to a new report, Germany and India plan to use Huawei’s 5G expertise in 2020.

Other European countries like Hungry, the U.K., Norway, and Italy believe Huawei’s 5G platform is better than Nokia, Ericsson, and Qualcomm’s 5G expertise even though Trump claims Huawei spies for the Chinese government.
