There is a new app that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration to prevent pregnancy. Women will take their temperature as soon as they get out of bed in the morning. After that, they will put the temperature into the app. The app will display a green or red color. Green means that you are not fertile. Red means that you are fertile.

Mikiya Johnson is a college student who will be trying the app along with her friends. She stated that the app will be easy to use because most people look at their phone as soon as they wake up. Women have been using temperature to track their fertility for many years. Women who use this app regularly will have a 99 percent chance of preventing pregnancy. If a woman typically uses this app, then it will be 93 percent effective.

The app has warned that seven out of 100 women will get pregnant with typical use. This is comparable to other birth control methods. IUDs, birth control shots, birth control patches and birth control pills are 94 to 99 percent effective.

Dr. Christina Greves has stated that this app may provide people with a false sense of security. However, she understands that a lot of teenagers want to be discreet when they are doing things. The app will cost $10 per month. A yearly subscription will cost $80. This can be costly. It can be more expensive than other forms of birth control because they are typically covered by health insurance.

However, many women prefer this over using other birth control methods because it is free of hormones. While hormonal birth control is effective, it can come with a number of health risks. That is why many people feel that this app is worth the price.
