Radnor Township School District has a new app that will help parents keep tabs on their children as they go to and from school. The name of the new app is Here Comes The Bus. The app has GPS function. It allows parents to see where their children are on their computers, smart phones or tablets.

John Hearn is the Director of Transportation for Radnor Township School District. He stated that he knows parents trust the bus drivers to safely get children to and from school every day. He also stated that the department of transportation is always looking for ways to improve their service. The district says that the app is for parents and guardians.

People will be able to use the app to see when the bus is coming. They can also get email alerts to let them know the bus schedule. The district has stated that the app is secured. It uses the same HTTPS that banks use. People can use the same app for multiple students in the household.

John stated that the Here Comes The Bus app will give parents and guardians peace of mind knowing that their student is safe. There are 3,700 students who are enrolled in this school district. Over 3,300 of them use the bus on a regular basis. The pilot version of the app was released in spring 2018.

John said that the pilot program was a great success. Eight-five families and five bus districts participated in the pilot program. John also said that he is happy to offer this program to all bus riders.

You can download the app from the Google Play store or App store. You will need to sign up and enter the RTSD School District code, which is 28853. After that, you can add your child’s name and student ID.
