Gas prices in many places are below $2 a gallon. The national average is $2.36 per gallon. If you will be traveling for the holiday season, then there is a new app that will make it easier for you to find cheap gas. The name of the app is GetUpside.
The app will let you see the different prices of gas stations that are near you. After you get one of the offers, you will have to go to the gas station and fill up within four hours. You will then need to upload a picture of your receipt. You will be able to get a cashback reward within 24 hours.
Elliot is a worker who is taking advantage of the app. He drives several miles a week and spends about $150 on gas every four or five days. He has used the app since August and has managed to save $100 on gas. He saiad that he was going to use the money that he saved up to buy things for his children.
Wayne Lin is the CEO and founder of GasUpside. He stated that the type of rewards that you get will depend on the area that you live in. He stated that people who fill up three or four times per month will be able to earn about $3 per fill up. They will also be able to earn $100 in cash back per year.
There are 285 gas stations in Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh that use GasUpside. There are also 700 gas stations across the state that use this new app. David stated that saving money on gas is not the only benefit that people can reap. He stated that if people use the app to look around for the best gas prices, then they will have to try new places.
