There is a new motherhood app coming to West Australia. People call it the Airbnb of childmining. It connects mothers who need babysitters with people who offer child care.

The app was created by Millie Zinner and Alice Pritchard-Davies. They stated that they created the app in order to fix the childcare problem in Australia. They stated that the current daycare system has not evolved to meet the demands of today’s parents.

Parents who use the app will be able to set their own rates. However, it has to be at least $24 per hour. They will also have to pay either an individual booking fee or monthly subscription fee.

Not only does this app connect people with babysitters but it also provides stay-at-home mothers with a way to make money. Alice stated that she wants to empower mothers. She also stated that she wants to help mothers get some alone time. Additionally, Alice wants to help mothers get back to their career or start their own business.

Alice was inspired to create the app after she talked to some new parents. They stated that the demands of parenthood shocked them. They were surprised that they had to give up their hobbies and barely had time to take care of themselves. They are also required to give up their careers.

Not all of the child care providers have children of their own. However, they are required to have experience working with children. Each child care provider also has ratings and reviews.

Alice said that this app provides a community-based solution. The app was first released in Sydney. Over 5,000 families used the app during the 18-month trial. Alice and Millie are currently working on expanding the availability of the app to other places including Perth. They are currently crowdfunding so that they can make the app available to more people.
