If you spent time following video games during 2018-2019, you’ve likely heard about Anthem. For a while, it seemed that video game producer BioWare was going to have a hit on their hands with this title. Unfortunately, BioWare’s intent to create a critically acclaimed and popular video game didn’t quite work out. However, this company plans on changing that with the announcement of Anthem’s upcoming overhaul.

Backlash Begins After a Lackluster Launch
Fans around the world were able to begin playing the initial release of Anthem on February 25th, 2019. Unfortunately, problems begin circulating fast that this release might not be giving fans everything they were promised. Fans began complaining about a lack of an overall story, bad gameplay mechanics, and many other issues. Things got even worse for this company as several top-level employees left the company shortly after Anthem’s release.

BioWare Responds With the Promise of an Overhaul
After the initial release of Anthem, many became concerned after noticing that BioWare remained silent about problems with this game. Fortunately, fans were happy to hear about BioWare’s announcement that major changes are coming to Anthem. The Washington Post reports that “a longer-term redesign” of Anthem will be taking place as well as fixes to “the core gameplay loop” and progression mechanics.

Will Anthem Follow in the Steps of No Man’s Sky?
Many video game fans are likely thinking back to another title while reading about Anthem, No Man’s Sky. This game spent lots of time in the same stage where Anthem is, which is being a game that promised a lot and didn’t initially deliver on those promises. After months of time and effort, the team behind No Man’s Sky began delivering the game that fans originally wanted. However, only time will tell if the overhaul of Anthem will have similar results.
