Pentagon Chief Marc Esper did his Trumpian duty when he took $3.6 billion away from 127 military projects to build 175 miles of Trump’s border wall. Mr. Trump wants 500 miles built by election day, but it’s unclear where the money to build all 500 miles will come from.
It took more than two years to rebuild 60 miles of border wall near San Diego. The government doesn’t have enough qualified contractors or enough land rights to be able to keep that promise by November 2020. According to the New York Times, Trump told Homeland Security to use the eminent domain clause to take property and hire contractors who don’t meet government standards. Trump said he would pardon anyone caught breaking the law, but he denied he made that statement.

Huawei new Mate 30 Pro will make its debut in Beijing in September. The 5G smartphone may come with China’s new Harmony OS. Google may not give Huawei the right to use the Android OS unless Trump extends the grace period.
Huawei’s business took a hit when Trump blackballed the company. Huawei’s CEO Ren Zhengfei told the press he would lose $10 billion in revenue thanks to the ban. But the company’s global business is on fire. More than 50 countries will use Huawei’s 5G platform despite Trump’s objections, according to the New York Times.
Canada stepped into Trump’s web of lies when Canadian customs arrested Huawei’s CFO Meng Wanzhou last December. Meng is Trump’s trade deal ace in the hole, according to the Washington Post. China told Canada to release Meng if they want their two spies back.
