Android 12 is the twelfth major release and latest version of Android. This version of the most common smartphone operating system in the world was launched on the Pixel 6 Series on 4 October 2021. Anyone with a compatible smartphone should be able to install it without any bugs or issues.

The new Android version has a new design called Material You, which combines many elements into a single comprehensive design language that operates in the whole OS. The new design has a dynamic color scheme, restructured widget styles, motion enhancements and custom shapes. With the dynamic color schemes, users can customize their phone and apply colors across the whole OS. The updated widgets not only feel and look good but also run on Android phones, tablets and foldable devices, irrespective of the manufacturer.

In addition, Android 12 has quick setting tiles. The tiny toggles are replaced by larger buttons. Just like the toggles, one has to tap to turn them on and off. There are new quick setting tiles for microphone access, camera, alerts, smart home and Google Pay. The larger tiles are an improvement because they enhance aesthetics, are easier to read and contain more information.

The Settings menu in Android 12 has a new design and some minor changes. Its redesign is similar to Samsung’s One UI. It boasts large headers that take a lot of space and make the settings easy to access. One of the minor changes is the introduction of a Safety & Emergency feature to the Settings page. The new feature allows users to access things like emergency contacts and other related items with ease. There are other notable changes in Android 12. These include animations to improve functioning, an always-on play display that constantly fluctuates, updated notifications and other changes.

Besides Material You, Android 12 has other amazing new features. These include scrolling screenshots with an edit section, AppSearch for searching apps, updated auto-rotate for easy rotation, one-handed mode, rich content insertion for moving media from one app to another and easier Wi-Fi sharing with the help of a QR code.
