The developers behind the hit augmented reality series ‘Pokemon Go’ have been busier than Ash Ketchum in a new region of late. Not only has Niantic released a slate of new Pokemon through their Gen 3 launch, the company has also implemented a huge update to the Raid System to go along with the AR+ feature which seeks to put fans even further into the shoes of their favorite Pokemon trainers. With all of these new updates, it can feel overwhelming to keep up with the game. Today, we are going to take a step back and see how you can do your part to get the most out of the new releases.
Alright, so if you are looking to maximize your Pokemon Go time this week then you’ll want to pay close attention to the new egg hunt that is going on. Starting on the first Community Day of the year, January 25th, and running until February 1st, trainers will want to hatch and collect as many eggs as possible. The reason? These eggs will exclusively possess Pokemon from Generation 3 that can be discovered throughout the Hoenn region. Keep in mind, this does not apply to your old eggs. So any eggs that you are currently in the process of hatching will not apply to this new event. For reference, you’ll be able to get some great new Pokemon like Ralts, Mudkip, Torchic and Treecko — among many others.
After you’ve started to collect new eggs to hatch, you’ll want to shift your attention to the Pokemon Go store within the application. Right now, Niantic has a Super Incubator on sale which will help to accelerate your egg hatching process by quite a bit. These incubators are not required, but they’ll definitely speed up the process if your goal is to hatch as many 10K eggs as possible during the event. Make sure not to use any of your smaller eggs inside of the special incubator as you will end up just wasting their full value.
Finally, trainers will want to start participating in the new Raid battles. New Pokemon bosses are being dropped all of the time and you never know when Mewtwo will be showing up. Niantic is always putting in new updates to the gym and Raid system and it will only take a couple of good captures in order to make your team hard to crack.
