A document that was signed by over 100 employees at Microsoft organization was presented to their Boss Satya Nadella. This was to urge the company CEO to stop partnering with the government in the works that are taking place at the border patrol. The issues came after Trump’s administration faced intense criticism over the separation of minors from their parents at the Mexican border. The letter was posted as an internal message that was published by the New York Times. The employees were against the whole process. The employees refused to be complicit. They couldn’t imagine their organization being a part of the heavy emotions that were being experienced at the Mexican border between crying mothers and children being separated.

According to BBC, Microsoft Company later shared a response from their boss. The letter was handwritten. Satya wrote that he was shocked at the policy that was put in place over the separation of immigrant minors from their parents and family members. He went on to say that the newly implemented policy at the Mexican border was merely abusive, cruel and absurd. He said that Microsoft would be at the forefront for a change. Satya made it clear that the company was not in conjunction with the US government on any potential project that was related in separating minors from their families and parents at the border.

He, however, made it clear that the organization had a $19.4 million contracts with the US government Immigration, Customs and Enforcement agent that is referred to as ICE. Nadella said that the deal was based on support tasks that involved calendar, email, document arrangement and messaging. The organization had earlier announced how its cloud computing platform was leading in the facilitation of content security and compliance. After that, the company said that they were delighted to be part of the work that was presented to them.

The employees that signed the letter pleaded with the firm to terminate its contract with the government and other clients that had enabled the ICE project. Google’s Chief executive wrote on Twitter saying that the pictures and stories of minors being separated from their parents at the border with their parents were absurd and gut-wrenching. He urged the US government to seat, discuss the issue and maybe find a better and more humane means of solving the problem. A way that could objectively reflect the value of the US nation. The chief executive for Apple Company told the Irish times while attending an event in Ireland.
