A school district in Pennsylvania is doing everything that they can to stop students from being bullied. Even though technology is increasing in popularity, textbooks are still an important part of a student’s education. However, iPads are just as important as textbooks.

Logan Mauer is a senior at Pottsville Area High School. He stated that iPads have many purposes. One of those purposes is to prevent bullying. People can now use an app to report bullying. The name of the app is Safe2SpeakUp.


Tiffany Hummell is a teacher at Pottsville Area High School. She is a fan of the app. She stated that she wants students to feel safe while they are at school. She also stated that the app will let teachers and administrators know that a student is being bullied. The app will send out a notification if a student is being bullied.

Every student at the high school has an iPad. They can use the app to not only report when they are being bullied but they can also use it to report when other students are being bullied. John Hannaway is a senior at Pottsville Area High School. He has explained how easy it is to use the app.

All you have to do is press the Report Bullying button. You can describe the incident, the name of the victim and the name of the bully. You can also use the app to report the names of the witnesses.

James Bell is a sophomore at Pottsville Area High School. He is also a fan of the app. He stated that the app is good to use because it can stop bullying. Another great thing about the app is that it records every incident that is reported. This means that it can keep track of trends in bullying and repeat offenders.
