They also have a monthly subscription service that allows people to play their Xbox games with other people around the world online. This has been an enormous hit with gaming enthusiasts. Microsoft knows that the money to be made in gaming is quite large. Therefore, they have devoted a lot of resources to develop new ways to attract people who are interested and passionate about this form of entertainment.
Microsoft had very big news for the gaming communities in the United States, the United Kingdom and South Korea. According to CNBC’s report, people in these three locations will be able to use a new gaming service called xCloud. It will allow people to play their Xbox games on their Android phone. A person will need to have a phone that has at least Android 6.0 installed. Additionally, the phone will need to be compatible with Bluetooth. Finally, an Xbox One controller that is wireless will be needed. The xCloud service will be in a testing phase. Microsoft will then gather feedback from people to find out where they need to make improvements.
Microsoft believes that it needs to make its gaming service available on other platforms that are not owned by them. Allowing people to play games on the most popular operating system in the world will probably attract many new gamers who would not have been interested in playing otherwise. There is a lot of info about xCloud that is not known as of yet. For example, Microsoft did not give any exact info concerning when the service will be released. The monthly price of the service was not revealed in the initial announcement. The company said that info will be announced soon.
There was no word about the possible availability of xCloud on phones that are made by Apple. Once again, Microsoft said they will be talking about that at a later date. It is clear that Microsoft believes the future of gaming will be on mobile devices. Otherwise, they would not have invested the massive resources into xCloud. Only a small number of games will be available when the xCloud service finally makes it debut. Among them will be Killer Instinct and Halo 5. Microsoft stated that more games would be coming soon.
